Curves on Court. Tennis Fashion for the Plus-Size Player.
Not everyone has the athletic build or body of a pro. Finding tennis apparel that fits comfortably and performs on court can be a challenge for women size 14+. Most brands cap sizing at XL or 14, leaving anyone needing a larger size out of luck. I have often heard women complaining about how hard it is to find flattering, functional tennis wear in larger sizes.
I recently found Junonia, an activewear retailer catering to the plus-size active woman. They sell tennis wear size 14+ through 6X . Their Power Play tennis skirt (around $60 USD) — a skort with biker style built in shorties and full-cut skirt with side slits — is a best seller. The Junonia tennis range is fairly basic in cut, offering both crew and v-neck short sleeve style tops ($40-70) and shorts, skorts and leggings in a variety of pretty colors; no fussy prints, frills or clinging fabrics.
All styles are created with performance designed QuikWik, the company’s own wicking, odor resistant, sun protective fabric. Some tops like the Endurance Tee offer mesh fabric.
Only available by catalog or online at Junonia.
