PimburySport Rocks Men’s Tennis Classics with New On Court Apparel.
PimburySport has upped the fashion ante in men's tennis wear. Founder Curtis Garrett has been designer/tailor to houses like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger and stylist for Hugh Jackman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Jennifer Connelly to name some on my best-dressed list. The guy clearly knows a thing or two about style. He also loves tennis.
With PimburySport Garrett has combined his passions for tennis and fashion adding smart dashes of Country Club, GQ and Borg. The result is a good-looking high quality mens tennis collection that is tailored, classic and clean. No, this is not going to appeal to those who bang the ball in sweat stained baggy tees; this line is for those who want detail, designer style and of course performance.
The launch collection is a bit reminiscent of '70s court wear but has some distinctly modern features. The mid weight poly/cotton fabrics stretch and feel soft against your skin and are specially treated to wick moisture but not show sweat. The shorts are fully lined — nice feature esp. for the white ones– and are quite short, 15" outseam with a 5" inseam (Roger Federer wears a 19+" outseam as comparison). Pulled together with gold PS insignia adorned tops and they work nicely.
Pictured above, the Hero Polo (the placket is deeper than most polos) $110 and right, the Hero Short $125 — yes, yes, these are upscale prices. Below is the Warm Up Jacket, $180. The Shawl Collar pullover sweater is another unique, artsy looking piece.
Look for Garrett to add a women's line in 2011 including apparel, tennis bags and accessories.
PimburySport is sold online at PimburySport and is working its way into specialty shops nationwide.
