Bethanie Mattek-Sands promotes eye black for the tennis court.
Bethanie Mattek Sands has teamed up with EyeBlack.com, the company that makes the eye-black stickers she has been wearing on the tennis court lately.
Mattek-Sands first noticed a need for glare protection after several pairs of sunglasses failed her at the Australian Open. She then tried EyeBlack's adhesive strips during her next match and immediately felt a difference in her visibility. Intimidation is suggested as an added benefit 😉
"As a person and a player, I have been known to push the limits of tennis both with my fashion and my play, and now I think I have found a great combination of both…," said Mattek-Sands. "EyeBlack not only offers a great product to help me see better out on the court, but allows me to be creative and have fun with what I wear."
Expect to see more of these as Ms. Mattek-Sands has a new product line which includes signature EyeBlack stickers and a rainbow of zebra stripes in the same "smear" shape.
Made of latex free, medical grade tape that breathes, they stay on even when sweating and peel off easily and painlessly. Football and baseball players are regular users of the more straightforward shape. $1.30 per pair USD at EyeBlack. One time use per pair.
I can see these being fun for teams.
