Eliza Audley gets crafty with color blocking.
Color blocking in fashion is big, big, big and tennis designers are taking it to court in a myriad of colors this fall. A tennis fashion house doing really creative things with the trend is Eliza Audley.
Pictured left is the Line Tunic and Basic A Line Skirt in lime; sleek and tailored court couture. The bands of contrasting color are actually ribbons of lightly striped fabric sewn onto the top (click image right to see up close). No bra in this one. Top $64, skort $72.
Below the Selvedge Cami (with built in bra) and skirt for those who dig sophisticated tennis wear but shy away from color. Selvege is a sewing technique used to create the lines of banding across the dress.
Audley, designer and brand namesake, turned the seam allowance outwards to show the back of the fabric which creates the grey striping. Crafty cool. Very, very different for tennis wear.
