Blue blood tennis. A Roger – Rafa Showdown.
Roger Federer plays world #1 Rafael Nadal Sunday in London at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals. Tennis aristocrats, on blue courts in blue kits. Our game will look artfully surreal, a tennis blueprint of sorts.
Really over-the-top jazzy shirt for Rog. Too modern for such a traditional guy? In my eyes, possibly. Maybe that's what's rocking his world on court though. Check out his shoes here in this link. They're the Ltd. Ed. Savile Row Zoom Vapor 9 Tour and they definitely pull from tradition. Pretty creative twist on an athletic shoe.
Both men are wearing new winter Nike.
I do love Rafa's shirt and IMHO this one wins Sunday's battle, A subtle, dynamic graphic across the chest tells the Spaniard's movement story.
Quick look back here and you'll see what I mean by jazzy for RF. Aside from a dalliance to bright orange in Indian Wells, Roger stays pretty true to his roots (this goes back years).
So, here you go, Roger, Rafa (and some DelPotro) 2013: US Open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros (Roger), Roland Garros (Rafa), Indian Wells (Roger) plus more, Australian Open. It was a good year for these boys.
