New UNIQLO tennis apparel for Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open.
All eyes are on Melbourne tennis this week as the first Grand Slam of the season heats up. World No. 2, Novak Djokovic will make his run at 4 consecutive Australian Open titles (5 in all) in a strong color-blocked kit from UNIQLO.
Djokovic’s DRY-EX polos are bisected with curved lines reminiscent of tennis ball seams and come in three versions: black/grey with red piping, grey/white with green piping, and an all-blacks version that has a bit of sheen in the yoke (this last one’s our favorite). Both the red UNIQLO logo and Djokovic’s own logo are on the sleeves.
Nice looking kit.
Those shoes: Djokovic's tennis shoes are the new adidas Barricade 7.
Melbourne pop-up: Uniqlo will open up an Australian outpost for their company running late January through end of March in the heart of downtown Melbourne. The store will sell official Novak Djokovic replica matchwear from the brand’s AIRism range. They’ll also a variety of signature UNIQLO clothing like the very popular UT series of limited-edition tees.
Melbourne’s permanent UNIQLO will open in Melbourne Emporium. While we’re excited for all the expanding they’re doing in the U.S. – five new stores in 2014! – out here in Los Angeles, we’re still waiting… –Erwin Ong
