Ltd ed adidas watch to commemorate relaunch of Stan Smith shoe

In anticipation of the re-release of the Stan Smith shoe in January, adidas whipped up a sleek nod to the sneakers’ style legacy with a Stan Smith Limited Edition Watch.

Mr. Smith’s signature and the inclusion of tennis lingo (“15,” “30.” “40,” “love – double click the image right to see) are some other sleek details included in the 500-piece homage to the tennis legend.

The watch comes in a white collector’s box and two interchangeable straps – one made using the same leather used to construct the Stan Smith shoe, and another one in silicone embossed with a perforated pattern similar to the shoe’s sole.

Speaking of watches, Novak Djokovic recently jumped on the timepiece bandwagon, announcing his partnership with Seiko. The brand will create an “accessibly priced watch collection for young people” that will include the Novak Djokovic Foundation name and will be sold under Seiko’s Lorus line. They plan to have these in markets worldwide beginning June 2014. 

The others already with watch contracts are Roger Federer and Li Na, both in RolexRafael Nadal with his infamous and highly coveted Richard Mille accessories; Maria Sharapova and Kei Nishikori representing Tag Heuer; and Victoria Azarenka as a face of Citizen
