How many of you remember this tennis shirt? It is, in fact, the first Fila White Line Collection polo that Björn Borg ever wore. It resides in Fila’s archives and museum in Biella, Italy. Be still my heart.

Made of 100% cotton baumwoll fil d’ecosse* with acrylic, the polo has a quality cotton feel that is rare today. Borg’s tennis shirt (also with red collar as linked above) was his tennis uniform (plus the shorts, headband and jacket), and not just for one slam season as is common today.

Perhaps this is why the style is so imprinted in the minds of those who were lucky enough to watch the Swede in action.

*Fil d’ecosse is very fine quality mercerized cotton
