Tennis action in Irving. Building rank.

It’s finals weekend at the BNP Paribas Open, but there’s another great tourney underway in Texas also heading to finals, the ATP Irving Tennis Classic. Irving is an ATP Challenger tourney, the kind of tennis tournament that builds ATP ranking points, key to entry into our game’s biggest events. This is where players grind at a very high level but to far less fanfare. The all biz, no-flash kits tell the story.

Thought we’d pass along these shots of familiar names and some not so. Watch for them. They are playing well.

  1. Those who didn’t do well in Indian Wells as well as those who didn’t qualified, played here at Irving Challenger. It is nice to see some other good players competing such as Aljaž Bedene. I am hoping they’ll have more points to rack up so that they can play the ATP tour without any challenges. Btw, I love Tim and Aljaž’s kits. Simple yet sporty.
