Smoothie of the month: QR (Quick Recovery)
Coming back from a workout? Give your body what it needs to recover with this all natural QR (Quick Recovery) smoothie containing protein, carbs, essential fatty acids and electrolytes.
The milk and Greek yogurt in this one are going to give you protein to help your muscles recover and grow. The fruits will enhance your recovery by providing high levels of antioxidants. Flax seeds and almonds also offer key recovery ingredients. They contain high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, a healthy fat to fuel your body with.
- 2 small bananas
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup of fat free milk or almond milk
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp ground flax seeds
- ½ cup blueberries
- ½ cup strawberries
- ½ cup water (add more if too thick)
- 1 cup ice
- ¼ cup crushed almonds
Blend on high until smooth.
