US Open fashion picks and pans 2015 – M

We just looked at my tennis fashion pick and pans for the women playing at the US Open. Here are my men’s selections:

Roger Federer in Nike. RF’s night look is by far my favorite of his two US Open fashion choices although it’s a tad overboard with all the coordinating pieces. I might have selected black shoes and wristband.  Rog looks best in a polo and I’m happy to see Nike continue moving him away from the safer car colors he used to wear.

Rafa Nadal also looked best in his Nike night look. Head to toe this is a strong kit – Grigor Dimitrov wore it well too. I was surprised by how much I liked the camo on him.

I loved ALL of Lacoste’s new tennis shirts. Here’s one on Benoit Paire. Classic is always in style.

Gael Monfils looked fly (pun intended) in his new kit by Asics. The sleeves are taming aren’t they?

Donald Young stood out in this polo and shorts by Boast. Another case of no fail classics.

No more plaid shorts for Stan the Man. Stan Wawrinka shines in this handsome kit by Yonex. The color gradiated back is an artsy, dynamic addition.

Jo-Wifried Tsonga wears what I consider the classic athletic American look – one that you actually work out in. RL styles are for posers. Loose fit shirt, three stripes (adidas Barricade), and longer shorts. Handsome tennis style that works hard.

My top two pans are a case of too much going on with too much bright. These kits by H & M (Tomas) and Nike (Rafa) are distracting and a tad garish altogether. Pair one of these pieces with something solid and you’ve got some visual relief.

And lastly, as with the women, there are some fairly blah looks out there too. Andy Murray’s comes to mind – Under Armour basics. Not bad apparel  of course, just boring. UA does have some more interesting tops. Why not one of these? Thankfully the adidas shoes bring some heat.
