Nike 2016 Line for Roland Garros Men

Share

NikeCourt French OpenNike has finally revealed the gear their players will wear during the French Open, which, uh, starts today. Here’s a selection of the men’s lineup. Inexplicably, they continue to push Grigor Dimitrov, who, to my knowledge, is most famous for once dating Maria Sharapova. Yo, Nike! What about this guy? Check Tennis Warehouse for availability of this line, and also nike.com/nikecourt. (The women’s looks are here, and Nike has also released a clay version of the NikeCourt Air Zoom Ultrafly.)

First, on court wear. Rafa Nadal has won this event NINE TIMES, so he gets our top billing, no? This is the NikeCourt Challenger Rafa Premier Crew with Nike AeroReact technology. The responsive, lightweight bi-component yarn senses moisture vapor and opens its structure to maximize breathability.

In this shot, Roger Federer wears his signature NikeCourt Advantage RF Polo. (And look! An actual, traditional tennis collar!) Underarm gussets enable optimal range of motion, while laser-perforated ventilation and Dri-FIT fabric help keep the him cool and comfortable. (I was going to refer to him as the GOAT- but then, I’d be showing off my pro-Fed bias.)(Update: Fed won’t be wearing this in Paris after all- he’s pulled out due to a back injury.)

Next, the NikeCourt Advantage Premier Polo and NikeCourt Gladiator Premier 9” Short, with Dimitrov. His polo for the tournament incorporates a redesigned blade collar, while his short features stretch construction for optimal mobility and laser perforations for enhanced breathability. Each piece also features Dri-FIT fabric.

And now for some off court stuff. Nadal is wearing (along with his Richard Mille timepiece) the NikeCourt Fleece Crew. This classic crew features a back panel constructed with the same spacer mesh used in Nike Tech Hypermesh garments.

Presenting the NikeCourt Pocket Tee. The lines on this soft, cotton tee are inspired by the final point of Andre Agassi’s epic comeback victory on clay in 1999.

And you need a specific look for practice: the NikeCourt Logo Tee, NikeCourt Gladiator 9” Short, and the NikeCourt Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour
