Adidas outfits for Wimbledon 2016
When we’re speaking of Wimbledon attire, there’s only one rule.
Predominantly white. For adidas, that means the dazzle (aka zebra stripes) are no more than a fleeting memory.
And white is what you get with the adidas Climachill line that Angelique Kerber, Tomàš Berdych and Alexander Zverev will wear on the courts at SW19.
Adidas says this clothing “incorporates innovative fabrics and active cooling technology that provides an instant chilling sensation and lowers the body temperature, so players can keep cool on the court when temperatures soar.” Well, it can a bit toasty in Wimbledon, sure. Can it keep the rain away too? Here’s Kerber:
More adidas tech-speak: “Industry-first 3D aluminium-cooling spheres strategically located on the back and neck to correspond with the warmest areas of the body; providing an instant cooling sensation on contact.”
Whoops- they’re not done. “Mesh-like micro fibres that transport excess moisture away from your skin. Revolutionary SubZero flat yarns containing titanium to maximize surface contact with the skin, to transfer heat away from the body.” That sounds impressive! You’ve come a long way from Ted Tinling, baby.
Sounds like what they wore in “The Jetsons.” It seems the future is here now.
