Adidas unveils the new adizero Ubersonic 2
You know adidas would have to wait until after mostly-white Wimbledon to release these colorful new models. Introducing the adizero Ubersonic 2, out today. Men’s model on the left, women’s on the right. These will be worn by Sascha Zverev and Ana Ivanovic. (She could’ve worn these at her wedding on Tuesday! What a missed PR possibility. Ah, well.)
As with most new shoe releases these days, the maker loads up the description with a lotta techy terms that the general public won’t pick up on. (For me, it’s 1.) Do they fit? 2.) Are they cool looking? OK, we’re good.) BTW, We’ve italicized the “AdiTechSpeak” for easy reference; the boffins deep in the adidas labs are quite good at creating these. Sigh, I just wish they made wider sizes…
“The adizero Ubersonic 2 is the next generation of adizero tennis shoes for players who thrive on the advantage of speed. It’s built to let players reap the benefits of a low-to-court feel coupled with the enhanced fit provided by Primeknit technology.

Here’s a close-up of the women’s model. I really like the print on the upper.

These were designed for speed- they feature materials that save as much weight as they add performance, so they can provide superior fit and comfort without sacrificing on stability.
And…here’s a closer look at the men’s model:
