Fila Heritage tennis fashion collection for Summer 2016
An old tennis sage once said, “You don’t know where you’re going, if you don’t know where you’ve been.” OK, so maybe it wasn’t a tennis sage who said that- maybe it was Buddha or Yoda. My point is, retro is always cool. And very few lines do retro better than Fila. (Need I mention why?) We covered a spring launch of theirs a few months back, and now here we go again. Not that we’re complaining. I really like the look of the big color blocks like JJ is wearing here. THAT is the old-school Fila look.
New details such as pinstriped textured mesh, ergonomic seam lines, contemporary patterns, a raised rubber logo, (not heat pressed, though we miss the old embroidered F-Box) and high-quality stretch fabric give the iconic collection a fresh and updated style. The women’s collection features a sleek and elegant lineup of tops, dresses, and skorts.
The men’s range as shown on John Isner and Andreas Seppi includes an array of new crews and polo shirts, as well as short and pant options. Both lines also include a new take on the brand’s staple Heritage jacket.
