Marin Cilic Back With Fila
World #8 Marin Cilic, fresh off his big win over Andy Murray in Cincinnati, is returning home, sort of- in more ways than one. Cilic is back in New York City, home of his first Grand Slam title, the 2014 U.S. Open. And now he’s also back with Fila in a head-to-toe deal, after wearing Li-Ning clothing and footwear the past several years.
“I am so happy to rejoin the Fila family,” said Cilic. “I spent many years at the beginning of my career with Fila and I had such a nice relationship with the brand. It started when I was 16 and in the second week of my partnership with Fila, I won the French Open junior title. It was already a big sign of a successful and beautiful relationship. We’ve been apart for the past few years, but I could not be more thrilled to be back with them just in time for the U.S. Open. I’m honored to join a team of players that are not only great ambassadors of Fila, but of tennis as well.”
Awesome shot by the way.
Cilic will wear the new Fila Heritage Collection at the Open. He will at some point sport the new Cage Delirium performance tennis shoe, but that date is TBD. (Check out the Heritage Collection at Tennis Warehouse.)
Here’s a Friday Flashback to his previous stint with the brand.
