Tennis Identity

Serena Williams does Disney World

Serena Williams announced she won’t take part in the WTA Finals, in order to rest up from 2016 and prepare for 2017. She took a break from her tennis training and continued her recent media blitz, this time putting on Minnie Mouse ears while having a little fun this past weekend at Walt Disney World in Florida. She clearly enjoyed every minute.

Below she visits with Princess Merida from the Disney-Pixar movie “Brave.”

Williams said she can identify with Princess Merida because her character in the movie is portrayed as being strong and fearless. We’ve seen a little of that from Serena on court through the years haven’t we? [chuckles]

On the tennis court, Serena is preparing for next season when she will seek to break the record for career Grand Slam singles titles, currently tied with Steffi Graf at 22.

Here’s more from Serena’s visit to Disney. Listen for Ms. Williams in song. Pretty cute. She’s having a ball. There are two sides to this woman – and Serena would agree to that. (Meanwhile, what’s Venus up to?)
