Review: 5 reasons to buy the Asics Gel Resolution 6

Share

The most abundant tennis shoe I’ve see on local tennis courts is the Asics Gel Resolution 6. I don’t know about other areas, but they are everywhere in Southern California. Seeing how popular this tennis shoe is, I decided it was my turn to pick up a pair as well. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Here are my top 5 reasons for why you need to pick up and try these kicks on yourself.

Asics Gel Resolution 6 for tennis

1] Comfort

The Asics Gel Resolution is, hands down, one of the most comfortable shoes on the market. Asics really laced this puppy up with cushion. I don’t know if they designed this shoe with Gael Monfils in mind or the Humpback of Notre-Dame with a sensitive back. Asics really got the comfort formula down. Its signature gel material, dubbed “Asics Gel” lines the rear foot and fore foot section while the Asics Solyte Midsole material runs through the entire length of the shoe. That equates to comfort on top of comfort. When you strap these kicks on, you are walking on pillows on top of pillows.

2] Durability

The outsole is durable. High abrasion rubber is found all over the tread and is covered by a 6-month warranty. After a month of solid tennis playing, the tread is only moderately worn. This is pretty impressive, especially for me. I play mostly on hardcourt and I like to slide around. With my style of play, I honestly expected this outsole to last 4 weeks at most and yet, I was pleasantly surprised! This durability is TopspinMonstar approved.

3] Stability

The Gel-resolution fits comfortably around your foot. Yet, at the same time, it’s not a ridiculously snug fit like the Novak Pro or Adidas Barricade 8 Plus. This maintains stability through an interesting plastic heel-cup insert that is infused into the midsole. It keeps the shoe from becoming soggy and flopping around when you are turning those tight corners. This is good news because, although this shoe is bulky [due to all of the cushion], it turns cuts corners pretty impressively for its size. Polyurethane [PU] lining is also found on the Toe-areas of the shoe, and add a really nice touch of stability and added durability.

4] Style

This shoe comes in LOUD colorways! So if you are a youngin’, like myself, go for those crazy colors! If you are more laid-back and trying to go for that classy country club look, there are very neutral colorways to pick from. Whatever your style is, these shoes come in flavors that will fit your palate.

5] Easy Break in Time

There is very little, if any, break in time with these shoes. After an hour of playing, they were broken in right out of the box. Not too soggy, not too stiff. They were just right, Goldilocks-style.
