Tomas Berdych makes time for a custom Felio Siby

Tomas Berdych has himself a new deal with Felio Siby. The Czech is currently ranked #10 in the world.  I would think his appeal would be more for European tennis fans than here in the States, but that hasn’t stopped the U.S. based luxury design house from signing up Tomas as their sports line’s first brand ambassador. They’re rolling out the aptly named “Tomas Berdych Watch.” Trust me, this isn’t like the Swatch deal that Lendl had back in the day.

Watches are a popular endorsement item for the big time tennis pros. Nadal has his half million dollar Richard Mille and Rolex has a vaunted stable of stars including The Fed and Woz.

Back to Berdych. He chose an electric blue as the color for his limited edition timepiece. The mounted figures 1 and 7, outlines of the three inner circular dials, and both hands of the watch itself are all given a distinctive finish made of Rose Gold, that compliments the azure face.

The .2-carat diamond set in the upper corner of the circular “Cotes de Geneve” decorative facial engraving praises the silver casing made with Titanium that features the signature Felio Siby crocodile imprint. The handmade watch with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier Swiss movement comes complete with a Felio Siby custom stitched watchstrap in a durable blue material.

As a whole, the watch is in keeping with Tomas’ jet set life and penchant for flashy designs.

“I’m very excited to finally be working with a designer that reflects my taste in fashion, quality of workmanship and overall lifestyle,” says Tomas Berdych. “I’ve been an avid watch enthusiast from a young age and while aspiring to become a world class player, I always admired those at the top who had watch sponsorships and were given the latest model to wear on court. (The watch is) truly a work of art and a trophy for the wrist. I look forward to working with (Miami-based company founder and CEO) Dominique (Siby) and representing Felio Siby over the years to come.”

Above, that’s Berdych with his wife Ester Satorova — a model, can you believe it 😉  —  doing the 007 pose. This one is going to cost you, if you want to slip it into someone’s Christmas stocking. The limited edition Tomas Berdych Watch by Felio Siby is priced at $135,000 and is now available by special order through the company website.
