Tecnifibre Stringers Offer Peek at Pro Racquet Tensions

Delray Beach, Florida is hosting some of the top pros on the men’s tour this week, for the Delray Beach Open. Doesn’t Florida sound pretty good right now? Let’s see, is calling for a high Thursday of 79 degrees. You’d have to say from those outdoor stadium shots, it seems like a nice hang this week, right? Tecnifibre is on site stringing and they’ve offered us some insight into the tensions some of the pros are using.

Tecnifibre is the Official Stringer at the Delray Beach Open, and their stringing team is keeping quite busy.

They’ve got three stringers on site, and this past Monday alone, they strung 80 frames.

Each stringer needs about 12 minutes to string a racquet, stencil it, and bag it up. Juan Martin del Potro, Jack Sock and Milos Raonic use five frames per match. Highest tension, Dustin Brown at 79 pounds. Lowest, Mikhail Kukushkin at just 32 pounds!
