Miami Thrice: Federer Wins Third Miami Open, Konta Tops Wozniacki

Roger Federer continues his 2017 renaissance, as he defeated Rafa Nadal 6-3 6-4 in #FEDALXXXVII (their 37th meeting) to win his third Miami Open. He previously took the titles in 2005 and 2006. It’s been an incredible year for the Swiss champion, taking the Australian Open (over Nadal) and Indian Wells (over Wawrinka) titles leading up to Miami. The updated ATP rankings will have Federer at #4 and Nadal at #5. Federer indicated in the post-match interview that he would in all likelihood bypass clay events like Monte Carlo, Rome and Madrid, and return to action at the French Open.

Great Britain’s Johanna Konta continues her rise in the WTA rankings, defeating Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-3 to win the women’s title, her biggest win ever. This is a wrap to the hard court season, as the tours turn to clay leading up to May’s French Open in Paris.

And let’s wrap things up:
