Nike French Open Styles Explode Across Roland Garros’ Courts
Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova, Nike’s top three most attention grabbing players are sitting out the French Open this year (for various reasons) but the brand is sure to get noticed no matter how many rounds their other athletes push though. We saw a bit of this powder splash graphic back in March.
“The powder explosion graphic is quite avant garde, blending art and energy with traditional sportswear silhouettes. I like it a lot. Think Color Run on court without the clean up. Smaller brands like Athletic DNA have been playing with artsy prints for years. Young people who really play (not just dabble) especially like the more radical designs. This one really pops. Traditional polos are a little sleepy for this set and Nike is moving in.” – Karin
The dominant color here is Paramount Blue. It’s a really deep royal, close to purple. Looks sharp with the Ghost Green accents. You’ll see the styles come in solids as well as the powder blast print.
This is the Nike Men’s Summer Zonal Cooling Henley, made of Dri-Fit 100% Polyester. Both of these shirts are offered in the Paramount Blue and also Black/White.
Followed by the Nike Men’s Summer Breathe Advantage Henley. Crisp and clean. You can’t wear these at Wimbledon though. Gee, I suppose they’ll have a new look for SW19!
Get your fill now, because we’re going back to solid white shortly.
This is the matching Nike Men’s Summer Flex Ace 9 Inch Short, in the same colors as the shirt. Composition is Dri-Fit 90% Polyester, 10% Spandex.
Of course, Nike started out as a footwear company. So, we have shoes. The first is the Nike Lunar Ballistec 1.5 in the Paramount Blue/Ghost Green. This shoe is backed by a six-month outsole durability guarantee. Rafa’s wearing this one at the French, and I bet he doesn’t wear the same pair for half a year, no? And his has a lot of Roland Garros trophy logos on the outside heel.
And if The GOAT were in Paris….well, he’d wear the Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 Flyknit. All-time great Roger Federer’s shoe of choice gets updated with Nike’s signature Flyknit upper for sublime comfort. Of course, his personal model would sport a Roland Garros trophy, too. Blue/Black/Green.
Maria isn’t at Roland Garros, either (don’t get me started on Roland Garros, just don’t) but you can wear the latest Sharapova outfit.
This is the Nike Women’s Summer Maria Premier Tunic. Purple Dynasty w/Black & Hydrangeas. Content: Dri-Fit 88% Polyester, 12% Spandex.
We also have the Nike Women’s Summer Power Premier Dress, in the same “splatter” look. Serena would’ve worn this look. So far this is at TW/Europe only.
Nike Women’s Summer Power Spin Premier Skirt
Made of 92% Polyester, 8% Spandex in the same color schemes.
Nike Women’s Summer Ace Premier Short
Comprised of Dri-Fit 100% Polyester. Inner short: 92% Polyester, 8% Spandex plain jersey, ditto on the colors.
Nike Air Zoom Ultra React White/Purple Women’s Shoe
Nike gives the Zoom Ultra React a glove-light fit and an extremely lightweight feel. A Kurim upper provides support as the sandwich-mesh has been added for complete comfort and breathability. The seamless bootie provides step-in comfort while the Flywire lacing system allows you to create a customized fit. White/Black/Vivid Purple.
