June Style File | Favorite Things
Summer is synonymous with tennis whites and June opens the door to the season. Like sails on the ocean, white looks beautiful on court (especially grass). Most tennis apparel maintains its looks for at least a couple of years. Tennis whites are the exception. Because of the nature of performance fabrication you can’t bleach the stuff so it starts to look stained and dingy fast. We freshen up every year.
We’ve already begun looking at some of the tennis whites bound for London in July but here is a current fav plus a gorgeous new tennis bag.
YAFFA’s Country Club Whites collection has an of-the-moment waffle fabrication which is perfect for hot days. We particularly like their tank, flounce waffle skort and jacket. Margit is wearing the jacket and skort below.
We also adore this elegant over the shoulder tennis bag – see it below. The navy and white is on point with tennis whites, a touch of so summer nautical. A classic meets modern functionality with supreme style.
For those who don’t do hot mitt fabric backpacks or oversized logo emblazoned 12 packs, it’s the LOUISE & ELEANOR for Cliff Drysdale Tennis Tote Bag, also called the DiAnna. We spotted it at the 8th Annual Miami All-Star event at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne Tennis Garden that featured Venus Williams, Chris Evert, Nick Kyrgios, and Jack Sock.
The tote is handcrafted from durable vegan leather (it looks quite authentic). The interior pockets include 2 individual and padded racquet pockets set on one side so your gear doesn’t mix with everything else. A zipped bottom shoe compartment keeps clay and dirt out of your main bag. Here’s a look inside. The detailing is awesome.
Even better, with each “DiAnna” Tennis Tote bag sold five dollars goes back to Challenged Athletes Foundation an organization providing opportunities and support to those with physical challenges so that they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.
The Challenged Athletes Foundation believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances the quality of life. We here at TI totally agree.
Oh the cacti? We love those too.
