Two New Tennis Skirt Styles to Try This Summer
The tennis skirt continues to update. Solids, florals and pleats are common. Here’s what’s new:
SHEER OVERLAYS. In the heat of summer it’s best to wear as little as possible. Since we don’t all look amazing in bootie shorts a sheer overlay adds femininity and cover.
The Summer Drop Shot Skirt by Tonic is a beautiful example:
Here’s a pleated version by New Balance.
Yaffa Activewear makes an overlay skort using an ultra soft waffle fabric which I love the look of. Such a cute skort, and I cannot stress enough how comfortable this line’s fabrics are.
Here’s a closer look at this skort so you can see just how lightweight the overlay is.
FRINGE. Fringe continues a moment that has moved to the courts. Stella McCartney has incorporated the trend into her Fall 2017 street line. Lucky in Love has grabbed the trend and aced it. Their fringe tennis skirts come in a range of colors, all fun to move and play in. Here’s their solid black version.
And another, a multicolored style that’s sure to turn heads. I dare you not to want to run for every ball. Pair this with a solid white top for best effect.
All of the above are tennis skorts so a “compression” shortie (aka spandex) is built in. This allows you to tuck a ball under one leg and move with abandon.
