LACOSTE Takes Over Tennis Specialist Tecnifibre

Today LACOSTE announced that it has strengthened its premium position in tennis by taking over Tecnifibre. The takeover of 80% of Major Sports, which is the holder of the TECNIFIBRE brand, by the Maus Frères Group will take effect on October 1st of 2017.

Tecnifibre offers a range of strings, rackets and accessories for tennis, squash and paddle, as well as balls in partnership with Bridgestone. The company is present mainly in France through a specialized distribution network and is now developing its business internationally, particularly in Europe and the United States.

“This ambitious project will make it possible to make use of valuable synergies for both companies: the acceleration of international development for Tecnifibre and the development of technical products under the LACOSTE brand, ” continued Guibert.

Relying on its authentic sporting roots, LACOSTE is represented today by more than a hundred tennis and golf champions from over 20 different countries. With a strong sponsorship presence, the brand reinforce its heritage in tennis and golf through world renowned events such as Roland Garros, Miami Open and ATP Finals.
