Today, USA Today reported that Nike may be planning to reduce the amount of attention it pays to tennis. That is bad news to Nike tennis fans (myself included) but good news to smaller tennis apparel companies like Peachy Tan.
Peachy Tan, run by player Priscilla "Peachy" Tan Lopez, makes tennis apparel for women. Her lines, cut a little more loosely than most performance apparel, are designed to accommodate real bodies from petite on up to 3x -- which is why teams love the line. The styles offer good coverage and don't cling. The colors are current and cuts flattering to the perennially problematic for many, mid-section and hips.
One of my favorite groups of the fashion moment is their Mood Indigo Group, Iris with Indigo Purple. I love the Empire Tank, $58 USD and Mood Hipster Skort, $56. Its 14" length offers a little extra leg coverage (many brands run shorter). The group has actually been out a few weeks now.
Just released is their new Holiday Nordicia Group (not pictured). The sharp red, black and white color group offers a wide variety of necklines, cuts and styles in solids and jacquards. Warm ups and cover ups are included to make running errands before or after your game a more stylish experience. I personally like the simplicity of the flared tank and skirt and 3 stripe tank and skirt. Mesh overlays in some of the dresses lend an almost cocktail style. The Ursula dress, $76, is one of them. Check out the ruffled wrap, $84, to throw over it.
Peachy Tan offers thirty-five styles per collection. The fabrics are quality, lightweight, all performance. Wicking, UV protection to 50 SPF and antibacterial properties are all built in. Great detail. Made in the USA.
