Björn Borg's appearance in Boston this past weekend marked his debut in the five year old Champions Tennis Series and the first time playing in the US in 10 years.
Borg fell to John McEnroe in close semifinal action (these guys are still big-time players) but welcome back Ice Man. How Swede it is. McEnroe said that the match was "magic." "It's a special thing to play John," said Borg. "...We have a great respect for each other."
This time around though, no Fila, no headband and no Donnay racquet (Dunlop instead). Some things have changed. Coincidence that the B on Borg's shirt celebrated the city of this nostalgia laden match-up? Probably. Borg was introducing some of his signature tennis line, currently available in Europe and online at Björn Borg. The all cotton polos run €49.95.
The European site does ship to the US. At the moment the US site only stocks the underwear line (way comfy by the way) but come June all Björn Borg collections will be available to US shoppers on the US site as well. The B shirt? Only in Scandinavian stores, sorry.
