Men's in Miami: Almagro, Isner, Ferrero, Roddick + Murray

Off season yes, so just a quick run through on what the guys wore on court at the inaugural Miami Tennis Cup event last weekend. Color becomes you best Miami. Loved those fluffy courtside couches BTW.

Exo tournament winner, Nicolas Almagro, wore Reebok in the sunniest of yellows. The brand hasn't faded from the courts completely.

John Isner wore Lacoste's juicy-fruit stripes -- we saw this one at the US Open but this time on our tall friend. My wish to see Isner in something other than classic solids has come true. Keep it coming John.

Juan Carlos Ferrero and recent "retiree"  Andy Roddick wore le croc redux as well. 

Andy Murray wore adidas - I prefer a better dose of color on the Scot and for Florida. He looks best in dark colors.

 Boys will be boyzzzz.  Below, the Andys met up with the Miami Tennis Cup ball girls whose leggings, model looks and dancing drew quite a bit of attention off court. Tight white leggings with a short shirt? Hmmm. Not many women would buy into that but I'm sure that wasn't the point ;) The guys look pretty psyched ehh?! Kinda cute.

Shahar Peer US Open 2011 Tennis Fashion by Reebok

Currently the only WTA athlete in Reebok tennis, Shahar Peer wore new Reebok Match Day ZigTech line separates at the US Open earlier this week. Too bad for Peer, but good for Sloane Stephens who got the best of the 23rd seed in the second round, that was the last we'll see of it.

Peer adores bright colors and has had a growing role in the design of her tennis apparel. I like the way she incorporates feminine detail (here, the mesh) into some fairly straightforward athletic silhouettes.

ZigTech apparel is Reebok's newest innovation, taking what they built into shoes, adding the concept to apparel. According to the company, the new fabrication incorporates special fibers called Celliant which are made with natural minerals that take energy emitted by the body and recycle it back through your skin. As the energy returns it increases body oxygen levels by an average of 7%. The result? More energy for the athlete. There isn't much of it in these styles (upper back) but it's interesting.

Pictured, Peer wears the Match Day ZigTech Long Bra Top and skort in redtastic. The style also comes as a dress, with flattering sweetheart neckline and sturdy built-in compression bra (not flimsy and useless like some). A ruched mesh overlay on bodice and straps is continued with touch of the same peeking out from under the skirt hem.

The dress runs $60 USD. The coordinating Match Day ZigTech Skirt and skort are each $45.00. They come in uber berry (gorgeous color), team purple, black and the redtastic Shahar wore. 

 If you haven't worn Reebok, they offer one of the coolest fabrics around (temp wise).

New Reebok Tennis for Women. Fashion, Function, Fabulous.

 

Reebok has a dynamic ladies line-up ready for fall. Debuting some of the best will be Amelie Mauresmo who will wear Reebok's new Club UV Tank ($35 USD) and Skort ($35) at the U.S. Open. The Chemical Blue two-piece set is ultra lightweight poly/spandex, total comfort. The top has a key hole back with an elegant touch of mesh and ruching on the upper arm holes in the front. At the waist it offers a looser fit waist so no belly cling but enough coverage when reaching.

Shahar Peer, pictured below, will wear the OTM Sleeveless Vest ($45) and Skort ($40) in phantom blue/wildberry and neon cherry (skort not pictured). The top has wide criss-cross straps accented by a contrasting thin one, pretty touch. The cut is beautifully slimming for wide shoulders and the colors deliciously different. This top is a tighter fit around the waist than Mauresmo's above.

Peer's outfit picks up the colors of the Fall Go Sweat Dress you'll see on Nicole Vaidisova ($60).  If you avoid fitted spandex dresses because of the way they cling to the mid-zone, give this one a try -- the pattern hides any bumps or bulges and the colors are downright flattering on anyone. Great chest coverage without too much extra fabric. Awesome in the heat.

Iveta Benesova will wear the sculpted Ombre Dress ($60) in Chemical Blue. This dress is built of stretch piecework with illusion mesh straps and accents of metallic. It's got a bit of a corset/lingerie look but is completely athletic. The black with gold version is stunning.

All of the women's tops and dresses are PlayDry, made with a built in bra that provides medium impact support and a bit of thickness in the cup for modesty.

Standing O. Love, love, love this new line and man is it comfortable to play in.

Shahar Peer and Amelie Mauresmo Usher in New Summer Reebok.

WTA players Shahar Peer and Amelie Mauresmo wore some of Reebok's newest for tennis at Wimbledon. I personally love this line in all its simplicity and comfort.

Pictured left on Peer is a two piece group, the On the Move long bra top, $45 and skort, $40 in white. The set is very similar to the newer to market Summer Move Racer Tank, and Summer Move Skort which are available in cucumber green and lilac (gorgeous color). Similar pricing.

The Summer Move skort has a fun two inch pleat with ruffled edge on the back hemline. The matching open back top has an artistic mesh racer design adding feminine flair to an otherwise fairly straight-forward style.

The new Summer collection also offers a dress and ventilation panel blocked two-piece as well.  (both Summer Club). The collection tops all have the racer back, a super flattering neckline and longer top length.

I played in this line on a particularly hot day and found that, despite killer humidity,  the Playdry fabric really did its job. I never felt overheated or encased in fabric.

Peer's shoes are the Reebok Rematch, MSRP $90 USD and her racquet, the Prince EXO³ Red 105.

Reebok channels Michael Chang in a new line made in his honor.

More retro for for the courts, this time from the 1990's. The 20th anniversary of Michael Chang's Roland Garros Championship is coming up and in honor Reebok has released a line of apparel inspired by the looks Chang loved to wear. The graphic rich polo pictured is made of pique weave with a ribbed collar and three button placket. The design is screen printed (not woven), 100% cotton, $42.99 USD.

Also in the collection are a t-shirt, jacket and hoody (with snap closures) ranging from $25 - $75. Check out the hoody in orange. No one will miss you in that one!

These are not on the Reebok site but are available at Tennis-Warehouse. There is no additional retailer listing available. Reminisce a little by checking out Chang's bio at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2008.

Nicole Vaidisova, Red Hot in Reebok.

Nicole Vaidisova has been warming up in Miami wearing this hot little number from Reebok, the women's On the Go Tennis Dress, in red attack and grey.

This is a fitted for the fit dress (read, not forgiving of a less than svelte shape), 23" in length, MSRP $60. The adjustable wide straps cross in the back and provide comfortable support. The bodice offers a built in bra and double layered compression. This dress is a good option for the more amply chested who have avoided shoulder baring thin-strap styles because of lack of support.  PlayDry fabric keeps you cool in the heat.

Shahar Peer Keeps Cool in Reebok's Latest On-Court Designs

 

Shahar Peer wears Spring 09 Tennis from Reebok. Totally technical and well thought out, these are pieces designed to play in when its hot. The Trinergy High Impact Bra top ($50 USD) is a fitted, long length, high performance bra for intense workouts. The high neckline provides coverage and the deep scoop back cools. There is an adjustable detail across the back for custom fit and support. Shelf bra and loose bodice below means this will not cling to a tummy. With the top Peer has paired the OTM Tennis Skirt ($40). It is a semi-fitted skirt with a different but complimenting light graphic print and features an internal compression short. Anti-bacteria, anti-odor, UV protection are built into the Play Dry fabrication of both pieces. Nice cool look and feel for a very hot court down-under.

Jelena's New Dress; Fresh for the City

Although one of the fittest and toughest competitors on the women' tour, Jelena Jankovic thrives on glamour and fun. As the US Open begins Jelena will step out in an elegant new competition dress made just for her.

Constructed of white PlayDry polyester fabrication with a banana creme colored mesh overlay, the dress has a dual lattice edge at the bottom hem and a beautifully detailed silver metallic belt that accents her trim waist. This limited edition dress (no built in bra so you'll need one) is by Reebok and has a MSRP of $75 USD. It will be available soon at Tennis-Warehouse and other tennis retailers nationwide.

Yellow is attention getting against blue (courts at the Open) and symbolizes serenity and peace among holistic healers and followers of Feng Shui. We look forward to seeing if it helps Jelena to the win she wants so badly.

The New Kinetic Fit System (KFS) From Reebok Offers Jelena Sleek, Sporty Style for her Big Game

As seen on Jelena Jankovic at Wimbledon, this is the Reebok KFS Dress 2, SRP $60. It's available in white with endurance blue (pictured here), endurance blue, soft black and sassy pink. Reebok's Kinetic Fit System technology allows freedom of movement but nicely fitted look. The bodice is made of a shinier Play Dry fabric than the skirt, which is more matte and opens to reveal the bright color underneath when the player moves.  There is a built in support bra. Even a fighting machine like Jankovic looks cool and collected in this little number.

Fitness Performance Essentials For Your Core Game

Reebok's New Training Essentials -- Great for the Court

Reebok's new modern active lifestyle collection (discussed in more detail here: women's post) combines technical innovation with athletic design to deliver enhanced performance to athletes working on fitness.

This line offers cross-over pieces that work well for a run, bike, weight room and court. The Pieced Tech Run Crew retails for $30 USD ($28 in its sleeveless version shown here). The Cross Training Shorts ($28) offer ball pockets and ample ventilation. You will need compression shorts underneath ($25). The color choices are all classic.

Shahar's Style from Reebok

Shahar Peer has been wearing Reebok's newest look for tennis. Made just for Shahar in geranium, the open, deep v-neck, frames her face and creates a slimming visual line for an athletic upper body. A bright white visor and wrist bands pop alongside the plunging pinstripes. The UV protective skort offers built in compression shorts and the  6 1/2" side slits keep movement unrestricted. This skirt is really nice if that's all you are looking for.

The Reebok t-back tank has a suggested retail of $40 USD and the UV Playdry skirt, $35. The look will be also be available in white, black, navy, spa blue turquoise and strawberry ice pink. The navy will likely be ultra smart looking (ALWAYS love navy). Look for the top in early May. The skirt is already out in a few colors. Yes, another dress. But we loved this one from the moment Jelena walked on the tennis court in the first round at the Aussie Open. Have to have it! This one is part of Reebok's Australian Open pro tradition collection and is simply called the Reebok dress with mesh insert. It comes as you see it here on Ms. Jankovic in strawberry ice with white accents or white with black accents. We must have it in pink.
