If you haven't checked out pro World Team Tennis (WTT) in your area, it's time.
WTT pro competition is regionally branded tennis in a team format that includes both men and women. Each regional team is comprised of two men, two women and a coach. Team matches are 5 sets total. Best of 5 wins; one set of men's singles, women's singles, men's dubs, women's dubs and then mixed follows one after the other on a singular signature multi-colored court. The first team to 5 games wins each set and so with no-ad scoring the matches move very quickly. On-court coaching and player substitution add to the fun. One 3 hour night, all kinds of tennis action.
The 2011 schedule runs July 4 through 24 but you can get your match tix now. Here are the teams, schedules and locations: Boston Lobsters, Kansas City Explorers, New York Sportimes, Newport Beach Breakers. Philadelphia Freedoms, Washington Capitals, Springfield Lasers, St. Louis Aces, and Washington Kastles, Here is who is on each team this year.
Planned celeb cameos are noted on the schedule. The Barclays ATP World Finals are underway at the O2 arena in London and so far no great surprises.
There's a fair bit of Roger worship going on and the twitterin' tennis world doesn't like Andy Murray's new shirt (his first change all year). All-black might have proven a more effective outfit choice as it was for team Melzer/Petzschner.
For those unfamiliar, the Finals breaks the ATP's top men into two groups, A and B in both singles in doubles.
Play is round-robin format. In singles, before the top two in each pool advance to the semifinals for traditional, single-elimination play, each in the groups compete in at least three matches. Singles and doubles winners in A and B play finals matches Sunday, November 28.
Here are the groups:
A singles: Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick and Tomas Berdych
B singles: Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Robin Söderling, David Ferrer

For those stuck at home, at a desk or simply light in the wallet, you can now watch the US Open FREE online.
For the first time ever, all matches played on the five television courts of the US Open (Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, Grandstand, Court 11 and Court 13), will be streamed domestically live for free on USOpen.org. In all, more than 200 matches will be made available free of charge, including the men’s and women’s finals.

If you can't be there (I'll cry with you), watch the tournament on Fox Sports Net (FSN) where available. Tennis Channel will begin coverage on Saturday, March 13 at 11:00 am PST and continue through the finals on Sunday, March 21.
The special Hit for Haiti fundraiser airs tonight at 7:30 PM PST on The Tennis Channel. Should be entertaining. TennisTV will also offer this match online free of charge.
The charity match will feature 94 Grand Slam titles on the same court with Stefanie Graf and Lindsay Davenport taking on Martina Navratilova and Justine Henin, and Roger Federer and Pete Sampras playing Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi. It is anticipated that the evening will raise a minimum of $1 Million for Haiti relief efforts. Should be fun. You too can donate to the cause by visiting this page on the BNP Paribas site. TennisTV will of course offer online coverage of the tournament through its subscription service -- well worth it for those of you stuck at a desk.
Oh and radio...Radio Tennis will air the tournament for your listening pleasure starting the 13th. Enjoy the tournament however you can. Tennis season in the U.S. has begun!

Andre Agassi will return to professional tennis competition this summer, playing two matches for the Philadelphia Freedoms of the Advanta World Team Tennis Pro League, July 10 in Philly and 17 in Newport Beach, California.
The league's plans include 73 matches in 10 markets, July 2-26. The Eastern and Western Conference Champions will battle for the Advanta WTT Championship title on July 26.
Agassi joins other marquee players: Serena Williams/Washington Kastles (July 9, 10, 13, 14); Venus Williams/Philadelphia Freedoms (July 7, 8, 9); Martina Navratilova/Boston Lobsters (July 14, 15, 16, 21); John McEnroe/New York Sportimes (July 13, 15, 16, 21); Anna Kournikova/St. Louis Aces (July 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13); Michael Chang/Sacramento Capitals (July 10); and Bob and Mike Bryan/Kansas City Explorers (July 17, 18, 19, 21).

The 2009 Outback Champions Series offers up a series of global tennis events featuring some of the biggest names in the game now over age 30: Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Stefan Edberg and more. To be eligible to compete, players must have reached a major singles final, been ranked in the top five in the world in singles or played singles on a championship Davis Cup team. Yes hot-shot, they can still take you down 0 and 0.
In addition to single elimination singles, each six-player event will also feature special doubles exhibition matches which are really a treat to see as doubles gets a bit neglected when it comes to pro tennis television coverage. The 2009 Outback Champions Series schedule is as follows:
